Collection and use of personal data
Personal data means any information relating directly or indirectly to you as an individual, which are collected and processed by YEInternational AS for the purpose of performing of a contract with an individual or contacting them and for complying with obligations arising from legislation.
Personal data can be collected in any of the following ways:
• When you submit your contact details (incl. your name, personal identification code, postal address, telephone number, email address, preferred method of contact) to us via our website or elsewhere (e.g., in an YEInternational shop);
• When you browse our website, based on your customer account information or through cookies;
• When you make a purchase or place an order in our shop or online store and we store your contact details or information on your buying preferences;
• When you submit a retail finance application.
Collection of other data
We also collect non-personalised data – information that cannot be related to a particular person (such as language preferences and location).
In addition, we may collect information about users’ behaviour on our website. Such data are aggregated and used to enable us provide customers with information relevant to them and identify the parts of the website, products and services that are of greatest interest for users. Such aggregate data are considered equivalent to non-personalised data under this Privacy Policy.
Use and storage of collected personal data
Using collected personal data, we are able to inform our customers of YEInternational’s product news, campaigns and upcoming events. If a customer does not want to be on our newsletter mailing list or receive notifications on products, which may be of interest to them, they can remove themselves from the address list at any time.
We also use collected personal data for product deliveries and for meeting our obligations to customers.
By accepting the terms and conditions of the Privacy Policy, you consent to automated processing of your data by YEInternational. You can always withdraw your consent via our website or by submitting an application in a format that can be reproduced in writing. Such application or withdrawal of consent cannot be granted with retroactive effect.
To improve our customer service, YEInternational may disclose information on individual users to third parties that provide services to YEInternational and are bound by a contractual obligation to maintain confidentiality of such shared information. Third parties can include, for instance, our partners responsible for the transport of goods sold in our online store or for providing a retail finance service.
YEInternational stores customers’ personal data until termination of their regular customer contract. Any data that YEInternational is required to store due to legal requirements (such as accounting data) are stored by YEInternational in accordance with the requirements set out in respective legislation.
Amendment of collected personal data
In order to view, amend or supplement the personal data collected for the purpose of identifying and contacting users, customers can visit the “Login” > “My account” section on our website.
Personal data protection
YEInternational has implemented all relevant precautions (incl. administrative, technical and physical measures) to protect customers’ personal data. Only authorised persons have access to modify and process the data.
Please inform us immediately if you suspect that your personal data have been processed in breach of this Privacy Policy or that your data may have been leaked to unauthorised persons. This is the only way for us to minimise potential damage.
Customers have the right to request termination of the processing of their data, information on how the data are used, and transfer of the data in a commonly used format to themselves or to a third party. To prevent misuse of customers’ data and their rights, we only accept requests where the identity of the applicant can be determined (based on a digital signature or physical signing at our office). We have the right to respond to such requests within 30 days.
We treat a request to stop the processing of data as equivalent to an application for termination of the regular customer contract.
Security
All personal data of the customers disclosed in the course of visiting YEInternational’s online store or making purchases are treated as confidential information. The use of an encrypted data communication channel with the banks ensures security of the personal data and banking details of the person making the purchase.
Terms and conditions and amendments of the Privacy Policy
By using our website or entering into a purchase contract, you acknowledge that you have read and accepted this Policy and the terms and conditions contained therein. We reserve the right to modify the general terms and conditions of the Privacy Policy, also notifying all customers thereof, but we will do our best to keep the Privacy Policy up to date and available to you on our website.
